PADI IDC Indonesia | Continuing Education Programs for Instructors | Trawangan Dive

Once the PADI IDC Indonesia has finished there are a variety of options for PADI Instructors to continue their Education. Here at the Gili IDC Indonesia we run programs for the whole range of PADI Instructor Continuing Education Programs.

As well as conducting Specialty courses and the MSDT Preparation Course, we also provide staff instructor training and run the Master Instructor (Course Director Prep) Program. The most common question asked is “what do I need for each level?” The Gili IDC Indonesia is more than happy to help Instructors achieve the desired level of training through the PADI IDC Gili Trawangan Continuing Education Programs.

PADI Specialty Instructor Course

Specialty instructor courses provide valuable teaching tips for meeting the requirements of the course.
You can choose from any of the 27 standard specialty courses that PADI offers along with distinctive specialty courses your Course Director may offer.

There are three ways in which to gain your PADI Specialty Instructor certification.

1.       To write your own distinctive specialty

2.       Apply to PADI directly, having certified 25 or more divers, and having 20 experience dives in each particular specialty

3.       Take your specialty training with a PADI Course Director

Being a PADI Specialty Instructor allows you to teach a wider range of PADI programs and of course specialize in your own personal area of interest.

PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer Rating

Once an instructor has 5 specialties and have certified 25 students they can apply for the PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer Rating (MSDT).

The Master Scuba Diver Trainer rating sets you apart from other dive instructors by showing your commitment to continuing your dive training and being prepared to help others continue their training as well.

PADI Staff Instructor

As a PADI Staff Instructor, you will be helping to develop the next generation of PADI Instructors while gaining an in-depth knowledge about instructor training. IDC Staff Instructors are an extremely important part of the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC).

Many of dive center or resort management positions require this level of Instructor experience and training, making this an important step if you are considering a career in Dive Center management or you want to open a dive shop or resort.

PADI Master Instructor

To gain the PADI Master Instructor Rating you must be a renewed PADI Staff Instructor and Emergency First Response Instructor and have held your PADI Open Water Instructor Certification for at least two years.

You are required to have certified at least 150 PADI Divers; 50 of which need to be from the Adventure Diver Program or above, 15 specialty certifications, 5 recue divers, 5 PADI Divemasters and 5 PADI Assistant Instructors.

Within the required 150 certifications there must be no more than 75 certifications from the Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) Program, no more than 50 certifications from IDC Staffing, no more than 25 certifications from non-diving specialties and no more than 10 certifications from PADI/Master Seal Team registrations.

The PADI Master Instructor Rating requires you to have trained at least 10 students through the
Emergency First Response program and have attended at least three PADI seminars and to have no quality assurance violations within the previous 6 months.
